General Practitioners

RACGP ACRRM

General practitioners (GPs) play a central role in preventative healthcare, often serving as the primary point of trusted, longitudinal care for older and at-risk patients. In the context of shingles, this role is critical, as many eligible patients remain unaware of their risk or uncertain about the benefits of vaccination.

This vodcast series has been developed to support GPs in delivering confident, consistent, and evidence-based shingles vaccination recommendations within general practice. Through expert-led discussion, the series explores the GP’s role in shingles prevention, with an emphasis on patient communication, shared decision-making, and effective use of the practice team.
